황석우는 1920년 『폐허』 동인으로 참가하면서 시 「애인의 인도」, 「벽모(碧毛)의 묘(猫)」, 「태양의 침몰」 등을 발표하여 본격적인 문학 활동을 시작하였다. 황석우는 감각적이면서도 상징주의의 영향을 받은 퇴폐적 경향의 시들과 자연을 의인화 한 작품들을 발표했는데, 수록된 작품을 통해 이러한 작가의 작품 세계를 살펴볼 수 있다.

In 1920, Hwang Seok-woo participated as a member of "Lungheo" and began his full-fledged literary activities by presenting poems such as "Delivery of Lovers," "The Tomb of Byeokmo," and "The Sinking of the Sun." Hwang Seok-woo published poems with a sensuous but decadent tendency influenced by symbolism and works that personify nature, and through the works included, we can examine the world of these artists' works.

저자소개

황석우(黃錫禹, 1895년 ~ 1959년)는 대한민국의 시인이다. 호는 상아탑이며, 서울에서 출생하였다. 일본 와세다 대학 정치경제과를 졸업하였으며, 1920년에 김억, 남궁벽, 오상순, 염상섭 등과 함께 문학지 《폐허》의 동인이 되어 상징주의 시 운동의 선구적인 역할을 하였다. 이듬해에는 박영희, 변영로, 노자영, 박종화 등과 함께 동인지 《장미촌》을 창간하였으며, 1929년에는 동인지 《조선시단》을 창간하였다. 한편, 중외일보, 조선일보 기자와 국민대학교 교무처장 등을 지냈다. 저서로는 《자연송》이 있다.

Hwang Seok-woo (1895 – 1959) was a South Korean poet. Ho is an ivory tower and was born in Seoul. He graduated from the Department of Political Economy at Waseda University in Japan, and in 1920, along with Kim Eok, Namgungbyeok, Oh Sang-soon, and Yeom Sang-seop, became the driving force of the literary magazine "The Ruined" and played a pioneering role in the symbolic poetry movement. In the following year, he founded the Donginji Rose Village with Park Young-hee, Byun Young-ro, Noh Ja-young, and Park Jong-hwa, and in 1929, he founded the Donginji Chosun Sidan. Meanwhile, he served as a reporter for the JoongAng Ilbo, Chosun Ilbo, and the head of Kookmin University's academic affairs department. His book is "Natural Song".
